First off in Monsters Love Gum you play as one of four types of monsters who have different reach, and speed to suck up the gum balls. In addition you have some attack weapons including, sending a bomb or lightning strike to an opponent, clearing the board with a tornado, or even tilting the board to your advantage. There are two game modes giving you battle mode and hoarder mode.

Battle mode is a quick paced version where the first to collect a certain number of the blue gum balls wins. Hoarder mode sends out four colors of gum balls, and you can only eat the same colored ones as your platform. Hoarder mode features the same battle elements, and each mode features bonus balls which let you use those attacks.

You can play solo against three computer opponents, or with three other human players, and any other combination. You can play a sudden death round or choose multiple rounds, and you can even select the number of gum balls on screen. You simply flick from your monster for it to stick out its tongue to collect the gum balls.

The game is overloaded with gum balls, and it’s a fast paced rush in battle mode, and more precision in hoarder mode. Having to deal with attacks from opponents adds a whole new enjoyable element to the traditional Hungry, Hungry Hippos. The computer players are solid to play against, but it’s nothing close to play against friends on one iPad.

The game has great colorful artwork which makes the monsters seem rather cute, and makes it fun for all ages. There is a hectic kind of goofy soundtrack further fitting the theme. This definitely looks interesting especially if you’re a fan of Hungry, Hungry Hippos.

* Now replace the original HOSTS file with the one you just saved on your desktop. In case you are prompted for the password, just enter it and click OK.

4. After successfully editing your HOSTS file, open iTunes and click on the name of your device from the sidebar menu.

5. On the summary page, hold down the SHIFT key on keyboard and press Restore button. Choose the firmware file you want to restore, choose the respective(iOS 4.0 or iOS 4.0.1) IPSW file you downloaded in step 1. For Mac OS X user, use the ALT+Restore combo to choose the firmware file.

6. iTunes will now restore the firmware files on your device. Your iPhone screen will show you the restore progress. Just in case iTunes shows errors with code 1015, 1013 or 1011, just ignore them.

7. After the completion of the restore process, download Recboot. Recboot is a free utility for Windows and Mac users which forces an iDevice to exit from recovery mode with a single click. Click on the Exit Recovery Mode button to restart your device.
